Ballyholland Development Association was formed in 2003 to promote improvements in the lives of the inhabitants of the people of Ballyholland and its environs, irrespective of race, creed, age, political or other opinions.
The previous Ballyholland Community Association had seen its hopes of providing a new purpose built Community Centre in the area cruelly dashed some years earlier.
The remit of the BDA was to develop facilities in the area to provide for leisure, social and sporting activities in the area, and to manage any community facility which they were able to develop.
